About The Properties
The Old Brewery and Cromwells Cottages are located in the heart of the historical town of Pembroke, opposite Pembroke Castle which dates back to 1093 and later became the birth place of Henry V11 in 1457.
The secluded courtyard of buildings started life as a brewery and stables for the castle. You can still find small traces of its historic past such as a 12th century stone window and stable flagstones. In later years the property became the Haven Christian Centre helping families and young adults, providing a very happy hub for many to enjoy. Sadly funding for the centre dwindled and the property fell into disrepair. In 2021 our family started the two year renovation aiming to restore and keep its original charm and history while incorporating all modern comforts.
On one side of the courtyard we now have 3 holiday cottages ( one 1 bedroom and two 2 bedroomed ). The Old Brewery on the opposite side is a large holiday let with 12 bedrooms and a capacity for 24 people. At the front of the courtyard is the small, locally run West Gate Gallery and Coffee Shop, which provides hot drinks, cakes and delicious take away lunches for our guests to enjoy.
This unique property complex provides a fantastic venue for your Pembrokeshire experience, from a couples retreat to a large family gathering. Its central location provides easy walking access to all that Pembroke has to offer, including the castle, historic buildings and market town. There are plenty of interesting walks to enjoy within a few hundred yards of the Old Brewery, from exploring the castle ponds, to wandering along sections of the world-renowned Pembroke coastal path. There are also numerous beautiful sandy beaches to be visited on the peninsular, many within a 15 minute drive.
